About Us
We are a Golf Society made up from a bunch of friends who met on various stag weekends. We decided that meeting up once a year was not enough so we put a golf society of our own together run by Darren Whitehouse.
The name Madhatters comes from Malcolm Browns stag do, we made Malcolm wear various hats during the day, which we all went on to wear at the curry house afterwards. This was the day we formed the Madhatters.
Our society has around 25 - 30 members with handicaps ranging from 3 - 35.
We try to keep our venues within an hour of the Birmingham area and set a budget of £30. This usually includes a breakfast and 18 holes although we sometimes get some amazing deals for this amount.
Once a year we put a team together to compete against the Tophs Golf Society in a Ryder Cup style competition. This is over 2 days, we call it the Wyder cup, as some of our members have slightly larger waste lines. We get to meet a great bunch of people and spend an enjoyable weekend taking us back to our roots on the beer.
